Video: Generation Esmeralda Drummer Brad Parker Dies During Concert, Band Keeps Playing
Drummer Brad Parker was performing with his band Generation Esmeralda in Uba, Brazil, over the weekend, when he suffered a heart attack and died (video below).
His band mates kept playing for almost a minute, apparently unaware that Parker was dying, reports the NY Daily News.
During a song, Parker slumped over his kit and then tumbled off his stool. Medics eventually climbed on stage and Parker was taken to a hospital, where he died on Sunday.
Parker's body was flown back to California earlier this week.
Generation Esmeralda's singer Jimmy Goings wrote in a statement on the band's Facebook page: "To dispel all rumors and hopefully re-focus intentions to the family I am deeply saddened to report that during our concert in Uba Brazil last night, we lost our friend and brother Brad Parker to a fatal heart attack. Please exuse my feeble attempt to express our sadness over this tragic event. There simply are no words. He died doing what he loved best."
