Signer Cee Lo Green says he “meant no disrespect” when he changed a bit of John Lennon’s song “Imagine” during his New Year’s Eve performance on NBC New Year’s Eve.
Green was slammed after singing, “Nothing to kill or die for and all religion’s true,” instead of the original line, “Nothing to kill or die for and no religion, too,” when he performed on Carson Daly’s countdown show.
Popular VideoPeople were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:
Cee Lo probably wanted to say “F**k You” to the protesters but instead apologized to angry Lennon fans, writing on Twitter, “Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys! I was trying to say a world were u could believe what u wanted that’s all.”
Here’s Cee Lo singing “Imagine” to ring in the New Year. Do you find it offensive?
