In Novi, Michigan, moviegoer Sarah Deming is suing distributor Film District Distribution and Emagine Cinema, where she watched the Ryan Gosling thriller 'Drive,' on the claim that the movie trailer misrepresented the film (video below).
WDIV-TV reports that Deming's suit says the movie trailer violated the state's Consumer Protection Act by promoting the movie as a "race action film…similar to the Fast and Furious, or similar, series of movies."
'Drive' "bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film ... having very little driving in the motion picture," states the lawsuit, which also alleges anti-Semitism.
Deming wants her money back and intends to turn her individual lawsuit into a class action suit to stop misleading film previews.
Popular VideoCongress just passed a drug testing law that has a lot of people outraged. Do you think this is wrong?
Film District Distribution says that customers unsatisfied with the film can get a refund.
