We have a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, which if it’s as good as the bits we’ve seen so far and the enthusiasm of the filmmakers translates to screen, is going to become an instant classic.
“A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience."
We also have six new clips (extended bits of scenes included in the trailers) from the film to share.
In Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie” young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences.”
The talented vocal cast includes Winona Ryder (whose character seems to be a variation on Lydia Deetz in Beetlejuice), Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short (whose character is named for Burgermeister Meisterburger from the Rankin-Bass – pioneers of stop-motion animation – Christmas classic “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”), Martin Landau, Conchata Ferrell, and James Hiroyuki Liao. Frankenweenie will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D October 5 in the US, and 17th October in the UK.
