TV Station Interrupts World Cup For Weather Warning, Viewers Furious (Video)
Germany became the first European team to win a World Cup in Latin America today with a 1-0 victory over Argentina.
German player Mario Goetze used his chest to deflect the ball into the goal during the 113th minute.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was at the game, clinched her fist after Goetze's winning goal.
The 18-carat gold World Cup trophy was handed to Germany 's captain Philipp Lahm, which was the country's first World Cup win as a unified nation since the Berlin Wall fell, noted the Associated Press.
Like Brazil fans last week, Argentina fans wept openly after the loss (video below).
However, there was an even angrier group of fans hundreds of miles away.
WENY-TV in Elmira, N.Y., cut away from the World Cup with only six minutes left in the soccer game to give a weather warning (video below).
