| by Michael Allen

WTVA meteorologist Matt Laubhan was covering tornado warnings in Tupelo, Miss., today when he and the rest of the station employees had to evacuate while on the air.

"There is a tornado ripping through Tupelo as we speak," stated Laubhan (video below). "And this could be deadly."

There is a significant tornado touch down," said Laubhan, who ordered other people to the station's basement, noted Mediaite.com.

According to WLOX, weather spotters say a tornado moving at 50 mph was heading for Tupelo and the Weather Channel reported "major damage" in the city.
