TV Personality and Oldest Teenager Dick Clark Dead at 82

| by

An American icon passed away today after suffering a massive heart attack. Dick Clark, who left television in 2004 after suffering a stroke, died Wednesday April 18th.

Clark was a fixture of American television for over 50 years. He hosted popular programs such as American Bandstand and 100,000 Dollar Pyramid, the latter he joined when it was still the 10,000 Dollar Pyramid. He is perhaps best known for his annual New Years Rockin' Eve show that he hosted every year from Times Square in New York City. Due to his youthful appearance and lasting appeal with the younger demographic, he was known by many as "America's Oldest Teenager."

A publicist broke the news of Clark's death to the media today around 12:50pm. He is survived by his third wife, Kari, and three children, Richard, Duane and Cindy.

For now, Dick Clark...so long.
