TV Land will not broadcast comedian Don Rickles comparing President Barack Obama to a janitor at the recent American Film Institute tribute to Shirley MacLaine, when the cable channel broadcasts its shortened version of the program at 9pm on June 24.
The black-tie evening, which lasted four hours, took place at Sony Pictures Studios on June 7 will be edited down to 90 minutes on TV Land, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Popular VideoCongress just passed a drug testing law that has a lot of people outraged. Do you think this is wrong?
In his edited joke, Rickles said: “President Obama is a personal friend of mine. He was over to the house yesterday, but the mop broke.”
The 86-year-old comic also took jabs at Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty and MacLaine.
