Tron Uprising Prelude Review

| by

I am totally hyped for the Disney XD’s new cartoon series TRON: Uprising, which begins airing on  June 6th. Ever since watching the original TRON and then following it with TRON: Legacy, I’ve been dying to see what was next with this great series.  If anyone was keeping an eye on Disney XD you would have known that they aired a Special Prelude episode giving a sneak peak and a little background about our hero that will rise in the series. Beck is a Mechanic from Argon City. Recently his city is taken over by General Tesler, one of CLU’s henchmen. Beck soon becomes the unlikely hero and leader of a revolution.

Now I’m all hyped for this new series. It looks so cool and it helps us understand what happened between TRON and TRON: Legacy. Now I wasn’t too sure on the animation style used for the cartoons but I feel that it fit’s the setting of the series very well. Of course the music in it was awesome since the music is composed by Joseph Trapanese who also worked on the movie TRON: Legacy.

Watching this, I found that time flew by the way it does when I watch Once Upon a Time, which isn’t a bad thing - it just means I’m so into the story that I don’t realize time passes. The story was really good and I love the character of Beck. He has hero quality in him, you know the type, the ones that know they need to do something and when they try not too they just end up running in head first. After Beck’s friend Bodhi gets derezzed by CLU’s army, Beck knows he can’t stand by and let them take over their city. If you were waiting for the series to start up in June this is a great way to whet your whistle.

If you missed it, Disney XD will be showing an encore presentation of it and uninterrupted on Disney XD on Monday, May 21 at 7:00 P.M. ET/PT.  This is definitely a 4 out of 5 and everyone should check this out.
