Taylor Swift donned a new look for her appearance at the Met Costume Institute Gala. As the theme was Punk: Chaos to Couture in New York, Swift decided to look more edgy.
Swift, 23, wore a sleeveless black J. Mendel gown with sheer panels down the side of the dress. It also had an ornate bejeweled collar.
She pulled her hair halfway back and had pink streaks in her hair. She painted her nails black and matched them with black eye makeup.
Her gown is similar to the one worn by Gwyneth Paltrow at her Iron Man 3 premiere.
During the May 14 finale of sitcom New Girl, Taylor is set to play Elaine, a scorned ex-girlfriend who tries to stop a wedding.
Last Saturday, she was crowd-surfing in a sold-out crowd at her concert in Detroit's Ford Field.
She is currently on a North American tour called Red Tour, which ends in September.
