Steven Spielberg is near a deal with Warner Bros to direct a film about Moses, entitled 'Gods And Kings.'

Warner Bros reportedly wants Spielberg to direct the epic with the reality of 'Saving Private Ryan.'

The studio has wanted Spielberg on the project since last September when he first read the script. Warner Bros wants to start production sometime in March or April of 2013.

The film is being produced by Dan Lin and Lesham, and written by Stuart Hazeldine and Michael Green (co-writer of Warner Bros’ bomb 'Green Lantern').

A previous film classic about Moses, 'The Ten Commandments,' was one of the most profitable films of its time, earning $65 million in 1956.
