'Star Trek' Star Zachary Quinto Confirms He is Gay

In a new interview with New York Magazine, actor Zachary Quinto confirms, what many have suspected, that he's a homosexual: "As a gay man, it made me feel like there's still so much work to be done, and there's still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed."

Quinto, who played Spock in the new 'Star Trek' film, had refused to confirm rumors until now.
Despite his decision to remain non-committal about his sexuality, until now, Quinto has openly spoken out against bullying, even making a video for the 'It Gets Better' campaign to support victimized gay and lesbian teens.

"And again, as a gay man I look at that and say there’s a hopelessness that surrounds it, but as a human being I look at it and say Why? Where’s this disparity coming from, and why can’t we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that? We’re terrified of facing ourselves."

He has appeared as a gay man on Tori spelling's TV show 'So NoTORIous' and currently plays the kinky dead owner of a haunted house on FX's 'American Horror Story.' He will also reprise his role as Spock in the 2012 sequel to his hit 2009 film, 'Star Trek.'
