Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds Welcome Baby Girl

Rosie O’Donnell and her wife Michelle Rounds are the proud parents of a baby girl!

O’Donnell announced her happy news on Twitter, writing, “we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r (our) daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – Amen”.

O’Donnell, who is a former talk show host and star in the film “A League of their Own”, uploaded a photograph of herself and Michelle holding their newborn daughter.

Rosie already has four children with her ex-wife Kelli Carpenter – Parker, Vivienne, Chelsea and Blake.

The adoption of the baby girl comes after a tough year for the couple. Michelle Rounds had surgery for desmoid tumors in June and Rosie O’Donnell suffered a heart attack in August 2012. She says an artery was 99 percent blocked and a stent was inserted, with the doctor ordering her to eat healthier.

Baby Dakota weighed in at 5 lbs., 5 oz., with the couple’s rep stating, “moms and baby are healthy and happy.”

O’Donnell spoke after her heart attack saying, “I will gladly stay home. I want to try to work hard at getting myself healthy, on Mich and I getting started and maybe finding a baby.”

Rosie married Michelle in a private ceremony in New York in June 2012, shortly after Rounds’ diagnosis.
