R.E.M. Tells Fox News to Stop Using Their Music

The band R.E.M. is officially broken up, but they are unified against Fox News using their music.

Through their publishing company, R.E.M. sent a cease and desist letter to Fox News demanding that the network stop using their song 'Losing My Religion' during the Democratic National Convention, reports RawStory.com.

A statement on their web site said: “R.E.M. today, through its music publisher, Warner-Tamerlane Music, demanded that Fox News cease and desist from continuing its unlicensed and unauthorized use of the song. We have little or no respect for their puff adder brand of reportage Our music does not belong there.”

Fox News has devoted an enormous amount of coverage to the Democrats’ decision to exclude and then include references to “God” and “Jerusalem” in the party platform.
