Rapper Kampane was found murdered in New Jersey early Tuesday morning at about 8 a.m. The 33-year-old’s body was reportedly burned and then left in the back of a black SUV that was parked in a residential neighborhood in Paramus, New Jersey.
Kampane, whose real name is Rhian Stoute, was so charred that authorities needed an entire day to identify his remains. Police told the Cliffview Pilot website that Lampane had been shot at least once.
Authorities suggested that Kampane was killed elsewhere and then ditched in Paramus.
Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said, "We have no information as to the nature and location of where the death occurred. We do not believe it occurred at the location where the vehicle and body were discovered."
According to the rapper's website, he was born in Brooklyn and toured with the group Roc-a-Fella 11 years ago. These days, he was promoting his new single ‘What You Drinking On’ (see video below).
"Everybody loved him," said Kampane's cousin Russell Jackson. "We're shocked. It's very confusing...This is out of nowhere. He was a cool, comedian-type kind-of-guy. He should have been an actor. He brought everyone's energy up. He was ambitious. He was taking all the steps necessary to break out in the music business."
