Prince William and Kate Use Rented Bicyles

| by Michael Allen

St James's Palace recently confirmed that Prince William and his wife Kate have been known to use rental bikes when they are off-duty: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge occasionally use the London cycle scheme bicycles to undertake private journeys around London."

The route from their home in Kensington Palace to their office in St James' Palace can be cycled in about 20 minutes, through Hyde Park and Green Park with a bike docking station at each end.

In England, people can either pay about $75 a year, or pay $3 every time they want to rent a bike. But you must also pay an additional cost which depends on how long you use the bike for, unless you dock it again within 30 minutes, in which case your ride was free.

An active couple, William and Kate have also been seen canoing on occasion.
