Beyonce Criticized By PETA For Her Super Bowl Python Outfit

Beyonce is getting some criticism for her performance at the most recent Super Bowl game, but this time it has nothing to do with lip-syncing. This time, it’s all about her choice in outfits.

According to NME, Bey chose to wear the skins of python, iguana, and cow for her 13-minute half-time performance on Sunday. The costume, reportedly designed by Rubin Singer, has PETA angered for obvious reasons.

The animal charity told the New York Daily News, “We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

As of now, Beyonce hasn’t responded.

The new mom obviously did do something right because the show pulled in some crazy ratings. With 104 million viewers, it became the third highest rated television show of all time in America. Last year’s performance with Madonna reportedly brought in approximately 8 million more viewers. It also boosted her digital album sales by 230%, while Destiny’s Child has seen an increase of 600%.

That’s all fine and great but I think she could have done it without donning the skins of innocent animals. These days, they do have magnificent knockoffs.
