Nick Cannon has received a wave of criticism since debuting his new white face character, which he claims is a way to promote his new album, "White People Party Music."
On Monday, Cannon posted a picture on Instagram of himself dressed as a white man with a flannel shirt and beanie hat.
“It’s official… I’m White!!!” the caption reads.
The caption was accompanied by stereotypical hash tags like farmer’s markets, good credit, beer pong and cream cheese eating.

After receiving mixed criticism for his decision, Cannon jokingly tweeted about the reception of the white face character on Tuesday.
“Damn I didn’t know it was going to be this hard being White! … I’m exhausted with all this ‘privilege’,” he tweeted.
When asked about the title of his new album, Cannon shared that he had created a playlist during his work as a DJ called “White People Party Music,” which he found hilarious.
