Reader’s Digest recently published the results of a poll that found the 100 most trusted people in America.

Ironically, people who make a living pretending to be other people dominate the top of the list. Actors Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Denzel Washington, and Meryl Streep hold the top four spots on the list.

We all know presidents are usually some of the most polarizing people in society. People tend to either love them or hate them. So which president gained the most people’s trust as America’s Commander in Chief? Mr. Jimmy Carter. Carter ranked #24 overall on the list, 41 spots ahead of the next closest president, who happens to be current POTUS Barrack Obama. It seems like Carter, who campaigned as a DC outsider determined to break up inner-Washington circles, successfully sold that image to the public.

Other notable people on the list include: Americas most trusted athlete, Peyton Manning (#27), America’s favorite game show host, Alex Trebek (#8), and America’s favorite billionaires, Bill and Melinda Gates (#7 and #9, respectively).
