Leslie Carter Died of Lethal Perscription Drug Combo
Nick and Aaron Carter’s sister Leslie suffered an overdose after taking a lethal mix of prescription drugs for depression and bipolar disorder.
Leslie Carter died suddenly on Tuesday at the age of 24 at her home in New York.
Details were sketchy yesterday about Leslie’s mysterious death but details have been trickling out about the tragedy.
Leslie was found unconscious by her stepmother, Ginger Carter, hours after she had slipped and fallen while taking a shower.
The 25-year-old singer’s dad, Robert Carter, tried to do CPR on his daughter before paramedics arrived. Various pills were found in Leslie’s possession including Olazapine (used for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia), a muscle relaxer Cyclobenzaprine, and Xanax.
Ginger revealed to the paramedics that Leslie seemed sad that morning and had fought mental illness issues for years.
The autopsy conducted on Wednesday proved inconclusive and there were “no visible signs of trauma”.
The Carter family is now awaiting the results of a toxicology report to determine her cause of death.
Leslie’s funeral will be held next week.
Leslie leaves behind a 10-month-old daughter Allysa Jane and husband, Mike Ashton.
Her brother Nick, 32, will tour with the Backstreet Boys later this spring and dedicated the upcoming tour to his sister.
Nick’s rep stated, “Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform.”
Aaron, 24, took over Leslie’s Facebook account, posting a message that read: “Hey this is aaron we are going to keep her facebook up..! i will add ppl so we keep leslie alive! we love les.”
Aaron adds, “RIP MY DEAREST SISTER….! I LOVE U AND YOU THE ONE THAT ALWAYS ROCKS. LOVE AARON UR LIL BRO U CALL LL AC.”
