Is there something wrong with Katy Perry's new video for Part of Me? You might not think so, but some are taking issue with its context and asking for a boycott of the video.
According to a post on GossipCop, activist and author Naomi Wolf calls it “propaganda” for the military.
In the video you see Katy cut her hair off and join the U.S. Marines after she ends her relationship with her boyfriend.
On her Facebook page, Wolf wrote, “Have you all seen the Katy Perry Marines video? It is a total piece of propaganda for the Marines…I really want to find out if she was paid by them for making it…it is truly shameful.”
“I would suggest a boycott of this singer whom I really liked — if you are as offended at this glorification of violence as I am.”
Umm, we took this as a way to empower women -- are we wrong? Do you think it's propaganda?
