Sports Reporter Punches Man for Interrupting Live Broadcast (Video)
Sports reporter Mike Zambelli punched an unidentified man who interrupted a live broadcast at the Musikfest music festival in Bethlehem, Pa., on Saturday night.
Zambelli was conducting an interview on Service Electric TV2 when the music fan suddenly put his arms around Zambelli and sports analyst Steve Degler, noted PhillyMag.com.
The man reportedly dropped some expletives during the live shot, which are hard to hear on the video (below).
After Zambelli threw his punch, the concert goer ran off as security guards tried to catch him.
"He startled me, so I reacted," Zambelli later told The Morning Call. "He ran off… It's not a big deal."
"Yeah, I've seen the video," Service Electric TV2 General Manager Jack Capparell added. "I'd rather not talk about it. You see what he was dealing with. That could have been somebody with a gun or a knife. He did what he had to do. I just want to put the whole thing behind us."
The TV station's website is not showing the video, but someone loaded it up on YouTube, but later took it down. Thankfully, the video has been uploaded again.
