Nicki Minaj has brought her fiery personality to American Idol, but her divaish behavior could be the reason she is not asked back next season. Minaj is reportedly not wanted back for the next season of the singing talent show.
“The chances of Nicki returning to the show next season are slim to none, she is such a major headache with her behavior and it’s really taxing on many people with the crew," a source told HollywoodLife. "So her behavior is wearing thin on many people this season.”
Controversy and drama has surrounded Minaj since the beginnig of her Idol stint. From the very beginning Minaj and co-judge, Mariah Carey, didn't get along. They got into a well publicized fight, where Carey said Minaj threatened her. Minaj said she never threatened her, but Carey upped her security nonetheless.
“What you heard was troublesome," Carey told Barbara Walters when the incident happened. "What the real problem is that when Nicki walked off the set, multiple people heard Nicki say ‘If I had a gun, I would shoot the b**ch.’ She was overheard by several producers and hairdressers.”

After Minaj famously showed up late for a live taping and blamed it on traffic, a report surfaced that she is late often and rude to the cotnestants.
“Nicki has always been late," a source told HollywoodLife. "Even back during the audition phases she showed up anywhere from an hour or two past call time, pushing all of the auditions back and angering the other judges. Not only was she always late, but she always had a huge entourage with her and was rude to the contestants and their families, refusing to talk with them. And she wouldn’t allow anyone to take pictures of her, or with her.”
The latest contestant to be eliminated, Devin Velez, has also revealed that Minaj was the only judge, that didn't say bye to him.
"Yes, I had three come up," Velez told Billboard. "I had Keith come up first and he gave me this big hug and he was just like, “Dude, you were great. It was an honor having you on the show,” and coming from Keith, that was awesome. And then he had to go. And then I had Randy and Mariah come up, and Randy was just like, “Dude, I want to keep in contact with you because you are an amazing artist and we would love to work with people like you.” Hearing that from people like Randy who's been in the business for ages, that's awesome! And then, well Mariah, she was emotional but she said the same exact thing, she said, “You know, I would love to, you know, sometime down your road, do something with you.”

For her part Minaj says she doesn't know if she'll return to American Idol, but it sounds like she wants to.
“I think people would rather be surprised," Minaj said. “I like to save the mystery and the drama. I never give that away, but you know what? I always say this, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, that just the people behind the scenes at Idol have been just like a dream to work with and I really, really honestly mean that.”
