Ted Dwane, the bassist for Mumford & Sons, is in the hospital after he suffered from a blood clot in his brain.
The news was shared on the band's website. It forced them to cancel three shows this week.
"Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment," the band said. "The scans revealed a blood cloth on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."
The canceled shows include Dallas, Woodlands, Texas, and New Orleans. They expect to continue the tour on Saturday at Bonnaroo in Tennessee.
