One of the few remaining drive-in theaters in California showed two films this past weekend, "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" and "Fifty Shades of Grey."
The movies were shown on separate screens at a Concord, California, drive-in theater, but "Fifty Shades" could be seen from the kids' film area, noted CBS San Francisco.

While this unusual pairing may have given some adults a blessed break from SpongeBob's squeaky antics, many parents were upset.
"So, we had no choice, except for to go straight head-on to '50 Shades of Grey' in the background, well, in the front," parent Deborah Powell told KTVU (video below).
"At the time, there was a woman being slapped, naked, bound up," added Powell. "And so we had to have our children close their eyes. I could see another car behind that had children in there with their eyes closed."
Powell said that a theater worker told her that there had been other complaints.
"There is no way to avoid looking at that screen. It's too tempting. And, so we couldn't stay. So we had to turn around, my children were devastated," stated Powell.
