Word has it that Ian Somerhalder, who until now has been a major contender for the role, is now officially out of the running for the part of Christian Grey in the upcoming film rendition of E.L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey.” While this may be a bummer for Somerhalder fans, this means there’s room for another hunk to step up to the plate.
Ian Harding of “Pretty Little Liars” is a new consideration for the part, to play alongside his former co-star and potential Anastasia Steele, Lucy Hale, who was a supposedly-perfect match for Somerhalder when he was still being considered for the lead role.
What, exactly, are the casting crew looking for in leading actors for the film?
“For the part of Grey,” says the International Business Times, “producers are looking for extremely good-looking men between the ages of 25 and 33. As for the part of Steele, producers are searching for very beautiful women between the ages of 20 and 25.”
These two actors certainly fit that mold.
We’ll see who casting directors choose as we near closer to the end of the “Fifty Shades” casting call.
