Morrissey Slams Beckhams During Interview on State of Britain

| by

Not everyone is a fan of David and Victoria Beckham, especially not Morrissey. In a recent interview about the state of Britain, the Smiths singer attacked the couple in rather gruesome detail.

'I'd... have the Peckhams (Beckhams) dragged to the edge of the village and flogged because they are insufferable to anyone of intelligence, and they actively chase the paparazzi.'

Refusing to call them anything but 'the Peckhams', Morrissey told Loaded he's incensed by his country's over-the-top infatuation with the couple.

'We don’t seem to realize that David and Victoria Peckham will soon be back and God forbid they will be bestowed with titles Sir and Lady Peckham, this is what’s wrong with this country, we don’t seem to care.'

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

'Football often seems to me to have no meaning whatsoever other than just to be there. It can’t be elevated any higher because so many footballers are paid £200,000 a week, yet couldn’t identify a harp.'

But it wasn't just the Beckhams Morrissey blamed in his rant about the state of Britain. He took on former PM Margaret Thatcher and current PM David Cameron.

'If I kicked a dog I’d be fined £200, yet we’re asked to accept Cameron shooting down a majestic stag just for a hoot. Weird world, isn’t it?'

Morrissey (Steven Patrick) went on to discuss the Savile sex scandal, and advocate a ban on Routemaster buses and talking on trains.

Seems to me what Morrissey really said in this interview was "And heaven knows I'm miserable now."
