Morrissey Axes “Kimmel” Interview Over “Duck Dynasty” Guests
In a decision that’s certain to make Si Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” say “Hey!”, singer Morrissey has cancelled his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show.
The outspoken PETA supporter said he can’t ruin his reputation by being on a show with “animal serial killers”.
The former Smiths frontman and solo artist was scheduled to perform on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday, Feb. 26, but has canceled his appearance entirely in protest of the show’s other guests, the cast of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty”.
The hilarious reality show follows the lives of the Robertson family, whose company makes duck hunting products.
Morrissey, a staunch animal rights activist, issued a statement announcing the cancellation.
The statement reads, “Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ tomorrow, February 26. However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of ‘Duck Dynasty’ will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed.”
Morrisey adds, “As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away.”
Jimmy Kimmel even offered to let Morrissey tape his performance, but the singer refused. The show has now booked the band Churchill.
We wonder what Si Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” thinks of all this crap. Possibly, hey!:
