Megyn Kelly Explains What New Show ‘Kelly File’ is All About (Video)

| by Alex Groberman

The biggest difference between what Fox News airs in its 8:00 p.m. slot and its 9:00 p.m. slot is mainstream appeal.

Whereas Bill O’Reilly appeals to most Conservatives and a lot of Republican moderates, Sean Hannity’s appeal is strictly limited to hardcore Tea Party-types. And after the election, when he hilariously waffled on immigration reform because he’s just an empty suit parroting the ideas of more intelligent Conservatives, he sort of got exposed among his diehard fans, too.

Next week, Fox News’ biggest female star, Megyn Kelly, will be moving into the 9:00 p.m. slot with The Kelly File. Hannity’s show will move to 7 p.m., where it is guaranteed to do better numbers than Shep Smith’s current show. The move indicates that Fox News wants a more mainstream personality to compete with ultra-liberal Rachel Maddow from MSNBC and the acquired taste that is Piers Morgan.

On Thursday night, Kelly appeared on the O’Reilly Factor to promote her new gig. She didn’t offer too many details beyond a general rundown, but it was still good to see her back on TV after an extended maternity leave.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

She did offer this tidbit, though: “It’s going to be a live broadcast… a breaking news program, not an opinion program so I’m not going to be the female Bill [O'Reilly].”
