"Kim Didn't Make a Dime Out of Her Wedding" Claims Her Mom

55-year-old Kris Jenner took to the airwaves today to defend her daughter Kim Kardashian amid speculation that the "fairytale wedding" was only a publicity stunt to make money.

The entire fanfare reportedly generated a staggering $18 million in magazine and television deals, plus endorsements. Amazingly, Jenner claimed Kim shelled out millions of dollars of her own and "didn't earn a dime."

Jenner discussed the debacle while plugging her new book, 'Kris Jenner... And All Things Kardashian,' on the 'Johnjay and Rich In The Morning' radio show today.

"The one thing that is the most annoying is the rumor that she made millions off of this wedding. She didn’t make a dime and, actually, spent millions of dollars on the wedding, so it’s not something that she thought would ever not be happily ever after."

However, Kim and Kris reportedly earned around $15 million for the TV rights from E! and $1 million dollars from People magazine for exclusive shots of the wedding. There were other ancillary and merchandising deals that were also made. Their marriage ending now means that the couple has earned about $250,000 per day.

Jenner insisted that she was proud of her daughter for making a "difficult" decision to file for divorce after 72 days of marriage: "Kim had to make a very difficult, grown-up decision. She needed to do that on her own. She’s not a five-year-old girl, she’s a 30-year-old woman (Kim is actually 31) and right now Kim needs support from her mom today."

Jenner went on to say that Kim would probably donate all of her wedding gifts to charity: "I’m sure Kim will make an enormous donation as she does all the time anyway very quietly to a wonderful deserving charity or a children’s hospital."

She added that she wished Kim had tried counseling before severing ties: "I met and married Bruce in five months and it is 20 years later and we’re still going strong and I think that obviously I feel that way about marriage because it has it’s ups and downs."

Kris Humphries's parents, William and Debra Humphries, have told friends Kim has made a "huge mistake" dumping their son. According to TMZ.com Kris's family are still holding out hope the couple will get back together and the divorce will not go through.

It was business as usual for Kim yesterday, as she jetted off to Australia to attend the Melbourne Cup just hours after filing the divorce papers.
