Video: Katy Perry Jabs Russell Brand During Grammys
Newly-single singer Katy Perry debuted her new track at the Grammy Award’s last night, changing the lyrics to blast her ex, Russell Brand (video below).
Perry was performing her song “E.T.” but then abruptly stopped as she launched into her new track “Part of Me”.
The original lyrics for the song are “You can keep the dog from me, I never liked him anyway.” But last night she changed them to “So can keep your diamond ring, it don’t mean nothing anyway”.
Another part of Katy’s song states, “Now look at me, I’m sparkling/A firework, a dancing flame/You won’t ever put me out again.”
Perry’s song was obviously aimed at Brand, who the singer was married to for fourteen months. Maybe their split wasn’t quite so amicable after all?
Katy recently announced that her successful album will be re-released in March 2012 under the name 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.'
