Video: Katt Williams Arrested for Child Endangerment
Comedian Katt Williams has had one hell of a bad year, topping it off with an arrest for child endangerment last night!
Katt, the father of eight children (seven adopted and one biological) was taken into custody after a visit at his home by the Child and Family Services.
LAPD cops arrested Katt Williams at his Woodland Hills home, following an investigation from the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services who found several guns and illegal drugs in the home.
Williams was being held on $100,000 bail, but has since been released, and his children were reportedly placed in protective custody.
The case will go before the District Attorney next week to determine whether Williams will face felony child endangerment charges.
Two years ago the comedian released a DVD called “9 Lives”, where he discussed his large family.
Williams stated, “It’s good to be a father. And I didn’t have to go all the way to Africa to find these. You’d be surprised. There are needy children right down the street.”
This arrest is the latest legal problem for the embattled comedian, who was just hit with a $4 million tax lien for unpaid taxes, and his many arrested in the past few months.
Reporters caught up with Katt as he posted bail and left police custody, asking, “How do you keep kids safe without guns?”
Katt Williams claimed that the guns were secured in a locked box, adding, “If the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you’re gonna find guns! I’m not in a gang, what difference does it make?”
Williams also insisted there were no drugs in his ho me…well except for marijuana. Of course, the comedian insists, “Weed is not a drug.”
