'The Daily Show' host Jon Stewart gave credit to Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and his verbal filibuster, which is blocking President Obama's CIA nominee John Brennan's confirmation.
Sen. Paul wants written assurances from President Obama that drones will not be used on U.S. citizens on U.S. soil, as Attorney General Eric Holder stated would be possible in a highly-unusual situation.
According to Mediaite.com, Stewart said that Sen. Paul was actually doing a “good old-fashioned actual talkie filibuster” like the kind our grandparents used to see.
Stewart praised Sen. Paul for using the filibuster “the way it’s meant to be used” and said that “drone oversight is one certainly worth kicking up a fuss for.”
