A former Cirque du Soleil acrobat who hoped to break a world record broke his neck instead when he attempted to flip through 10 panes of glass on live television.
Jesus “Half Animal” Villa, from Las Vegas, slammed head-first into the glass on July 12 in what was his seventh world record attempt.
Now, the acrobat hopes to raise $100,000 to help pay for his “ultimate comeback.”
So far Villa has fundraised over $6,000 via his Fundrazr page.

Villa had a successful operation in July but needs help with costs for nursing and physical therapy, according to the Daily Mail.
“All I feel is pain, and remember what happened as it plays back in my mind,” Villa wrote on the page. “I have multiple, multiple fractures in my neck. There is no man or person alive with so much titanium down there[sic] neck and spine that’s walking.”
The daredevil set new records for “longest flip over a vehicle” and “18 front flips on spring-loaded stilts,” according to his official website.
In 2010 Villa had his left hip replaced before setting two Guinness World Records.

Of course, not everyone is supporting the “Half Animal.” One commentator on Fundrazr wrote, “So glad people are using their hard earned money to support a man who basically risks his life doing self serving life threatening stunts…. I am appalled by this.”
