Give Kim Kardashian, Reality TV People Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Will we soon see a ceremony unveiling a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for such reality stars as Kim Kardashian? Apparently not.

The administrator of the Walk of Fame's Facebook page recently wrote:

Someone asked if we give reality show characters stars? Hell to the No!

According to KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce picks about 24 new stars every year from around 300 nominations. So far, the reality show conundrum has not come up.

"No one's approached us," said Chamber member Ana Martinez. "Right now, it hasn't been discussed about reality stars."

Martinez admits there are technicalities though. Mark Burnett has a star, but he is a reality show producer, not a star. And then there are Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons.

"Ozzy has one for his music, and then later became a reality star," said Martinez. "Somebody brought up a point about Gene Simmons. He got it years ago with Kiss, so, yes, there is someone who has a reality show."

And what if a star like Kardashian or Paris Hilton comes up for nomination?

"I don't know. I don't think they fit the criteria,"  Martinez said. "I hope not. I'm very proud of the Walk of Fame."

She added, "Some day? Who knows? The committee always surprises me."
