Fox News Megyn Kelly: Pepper Spray is Just a "Food Product"

| by Mark Berman Opposing Views

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly should not expect an invitation from Mensa anytime soon. Discussing the police using pepper spray on students at UC Davis, Kelly told Bill O'Reilly that it really was not a big deal. After all, she said pepper spray is only "like a derivative of actual pepper. It's a food product essentially."

She did admit that the spraying of the students was "obviously invasive and obtrusive and several [people] went to the hospital" but her initial comment has taken the Internet by storm.

So far nearly 20,000 people have signed an online petition calling on Kelly to prove pepper spray is just food by eating it live on the air.

To back up your claim that pepper spray is a food product, please consume as much of it as was sprayed on each protestor's face, in one sitting, on camera at Fox News. You may mix the spray with one serving of food or drink, as I am not a sadist. Then, please relate the effects to your audience.

No response from Kelly.
