Fifty Shades Of Grey casting rumors have been running rampant in recent weeks, and now there is reportedly another serious contender for the role of Christian Grey: Stephen Amell.
Amell recently posted a Facebook video message confirming that he has had a meeting about the project.
“I get questions about Christian Grey all the time,” Amell said in the video. “That project is a long way off. I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean not that long, but not close. I wouldn’t cal it long, but I wouldn’t call it close.”
As noted by PolicyMic, he message was disappointingly vague, but it got the point across—he had a meeting about the movie.
The book’s author E.L. James recently confirmed that Ryan Gosling—who has recently said he is going to take a break from acting—will not be playing the role of Christian.
“What happened is that [a] local paper…reported on my husband being the inspiration for Christian Grey. Underneath it they put a picture of Ryan Gosling, as well. So that’s how it came about,” James explained about the rumor.
Ian Somerhalder and Amell are currently the alleged top contenders for the role of Christian, but there is good chance another name could surface this week.
