Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie: Charlie Hunnam Wrong for Christian, Says Expert

| by Alex Groberman

It’s no secret that Charlie Hunnam wasn’t met with a lot of fanfare when E.L. James announced that he would be playing Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. The folks who had been eagerly waiting to know who would star in arguably the most highly anticipated film of 2014 had certain people in mind, and when those preferred options didn’t end up landing the roles, there was a minor rebellion.

Still, despite that, it was largely accepted that the problem wasn’t so much that Hunnam is a bad actor – he’s just not the right fit. And when there are better options available, which there were, some people got a tad bit upset.

Regardless of what any of the critics have to say, Hunnam is here to stay. And yet, even though everyone knows that’s the case, it hasn’t stopped people from critiquing him. We’re not days removed from the announcement anymore. These aren’t just emotional reactions. People are legitimately still upset with the pick, and even experts in their fields are noting what a mistake his casting is.

As noted by IBT, a report from Cosmopolitan.com from earlier this week noted that Hunnam has been completely miscast.

A police officer saw a young black couple drive by and pulled them over. What he did next left them stunned:

“The patterns of his facial features show that this guy doesn't have a kinky bone in his body, so it doesn't make him believable in the role,” said facial features expert Jean Haner. “If the author wanted to choose someone more suitable for this part, she would have picked a guy with sharp cheekbones and hollowness to his cheeks…”

That’s the point we’re at now. Facial features experts are calling him a bad fit for the part.

Yikes.

Fifty Shades of Grey is scheduled to drop in 2014.
