Sheldon Stephens Elmo Puppeteer Accuser, Flip-Flops on Story Again

Sheldon Stephens, the man who accused Kevin Clash (who voices Elmo on “Sesame Street), of having sex with him when he was a minor has now recanted his recant!

Confused? So are we! Stephens is now insisting he was pressured to take a settlement of $125,000 in exchange for publicly recanting his story of the underage sex claim.

Stephens is now standing by his original story that he had a sexual relationship with Kevin Clash when he was only 16 years-old and the puppeteer was 45. The email paper trail of their romance seems to confirm his story.

Stephens, who is now 24, said that he was coerced by Clash’s lawyers to agree to the settlement.

Insiders report that Stephens cried during the final negotiations with Clash’s attorneys and repeatedly insisted he didn’t want to sign the agreement. After signing the settlement, Stephens continued to insist Clash had sex with him when he was a minor.

Stephens agreed to a settlement of $125,000 and to retract his original accusation against Clash, but now wants out of the agreement.

Sheldon Stephens says he would gladly forfeit the $125,000 in hush money to restore his name.

There’s no word from Clash’s camp on the latest news, but the puppeteer has taken a leave of absence from “Sesame Street”.
