Is it weird to say that one of the things that impressed me from E3 2014 was the reveal of Palutena as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U consoles? I mean, it’s cool that Palutena is included in the game as a fighter; in the last game she functioned as Pit’s Super Smash move, but that is not why I am excited about the reveal trailer for the character. I am actually more excited for the way the trailer was presented – in anime!
Oh my stars and garters! Look at the first half of that trailer and tell me that an anime based on the Super Smash Bros. series would be nothing short of amazing. The way that Link and Pit were animated, the quickness of their battle and how their powers were displayed in the trailer… they all looked super amazing. As an anime fan, I was highly impressed with the animation style used in the trailer. I was sitting there watching the trailer and thinking to myself, “Damn, I really want to see a Super Smash Bros. anime now.”
At the biggest video game convention of the year, I am sitting here thinking about how cool an anime series would be. I know this isn’t the kind of thing that most gamers would be thinking about when E3 comes around, but damn if that thought didn’t cross my mind the whole time the trailer was playing.

You tell me, does a Super Smash Bros. anime sound like a good idea to you after watching that trailer or is this just a “me” thing?
