Disneyland to Shut Down 10 Attractions for Restoration

| by
Ten venues will be closed down during September for restoration at Disneyland in Anaheim, California following a record-setting summer season that ends this Labor Day, Sept. 3.

The first to be shut down will be the Indiana Jones Adventure, according to a park resort representative, " [for] show modifications to enhance lighting, paint, figure animation and other effects.”

Other attractions that will be temporarily closed due to the addition of safety enhancement will be the Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybook Land Canal Boats. They won't open again until Nov. 15. The OC Register reports Dsiney will add walkways along the sides of the train tracks and improved handrails for employees.

However, new safety features aren’t the reason some attractions will close.

The Register states that rides like Space Mountain and Big Thunder Ranch Petting Farm will close between Sept. 10-13 for a Halloween makeover. The frightening changes will turn Space Mountain into the Ghost Galaxy.

Meanwhile, across the park, Disney’s California Adventure will undergo a spooky  transformation of its own with the Muppet Vision 3D theater closing between Sept. 10-13. After the alterations, the “Muppet” film will screen during the day while sneak peeks for the new “Frankenweenie” film will be offered during the night. “Frankenweenie” will be released in movie theaters on Oct. 5.
