Animal lover Denise Richards is mourning the loss of her 13-year-old dog Hank, after he passed away on Tuesday.
Richards announced the loss on Twitter, tweeting: "last night we lost our beloved Hank..I will miss him dearly, 13yrs old..been there for me thru it all (sic)" along with a picture of the bulldog.
She has been an advocate for the welfare of animals, especially recently.
During Hurricane Sandy, Richards and her daughters went to Long Island to help the many pets who were forced to stay in shelters.
She told Twitter followers: "Day off tomorrow. Heading to an animal shelter, to help out. Over 600 rescued from the hurricane. My girls are coming to help too."
They volunteered at North Shore Animal League on Long Island which was one of the hardest hit areas.
After receiving condolences from fans for the loss of her pet, Richards tweeted a "thank you" and said her fans were "the best."
