Brad Pitt Weighs in on Occupy Wall Street

| by

Brad Pitt understands the Occupy protests spreading throughout the United States.   The participants of the Occupy Movement are mainly protesting social and economic inequality, corporate greed, corruption and influence over government. Ironic that Pitt gets ‘the movement’ since A-List movie stars make more than $20 Million a film. Can you say economic inequality??

While in Japan to promote his new movie Moneyball, according to E Online, Pitt explained,

“I think what you’re seeing in America is questioning a system that has not served us very well. A system that, I mean for example, is defined for corporate lobbyists instead of the best needs for the people and people are feeling screwed a little bit here.”

He continued,  ”the most important thing is, really, not just getting swept up in the fervor of a fight. If you’re feeling marginalized and frustrated, sometimes the release of a fight can pacify for the moment. But beyond that, really understanding the details, really understanding the systemic problems-and you can’t stop there-really looking for solutions. And if you’re going to say one guy’s bad, you’ve got to back it up with, ‘this is how we fix it.””

Pitt joins the list of high-profile Occupy supporters, including friend George Clooney, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand.

Now if we can only get the high-profile, very wealthy supporters to give back – wouldn’t that be great??
