Billy Ray Cyrus Releases Hip-Hop Sequel to 'Achy Breaky Heart' (Video)

More than two decades after Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart” became a hit, the country singer and rap artist Buck 22 have teamed up to make a hip-hop sequel.

“Achy Breaky 2” also comes with a bizarre video in the vein of Cyrus’ daughter Miley Cyrus, with scantily clad twerking aliens and a guest appearance from Larry King.

"Miley keeps twerkin', her daddy's song is workin', now Billy sing that crazy hook again," Buck 22 raps.

Though Buck 22 may not be a household name, he comes from an impressive background: the child of jazz drummer Bill Elliott and R&B singer Dionne Warwick.

When asked how the unusual duo was united, the rapper replied that he had recorded a version of “Achy Breaky 2” with a sample of Cyrus’ voice inserted into the demo. Confident in the song, he asked Cyrus if he could remake it, then played the sample.

He liked what he heard and, weeks later, arrived at the session to record this track,” Buck 22 said.
