Bill Maher Slams Tim Tebow on Twitter
Comedian and outspoken atheist Bill Maher fired off a scathing tweet on Christmas Eve referring to the Denver Broncos’ crushing loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Maher tweeted: “Wow, Jesus just ****ed #TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve! Somewhere in hell Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler ‘Hey, Buffalo’s killing them.’”
Fox News’ Eric Bolling, among others, responded strongly to the social media proclamation. Here’s a tweet that Bolling responded with:

Bolling wasn’t alone in his frustration over the tweet. You can monitor all of the Twitter responses to Maher’s comment here.

"The good man out of the good
"The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks." (Jesus, recorded in Luke 6:45)
Listen to the words of Tim Tebow and then listen to those of Bill Maher and then consider which demonstrates evil. Some might say "neither"; to each his own.
I believe that evil is the cause of suffering and I have no doubt that Mr. Maher's comment against Tim Tebow was an intended mockery with the sole purpose of inflicting pain, i.e. to cause suffering. He seems to revel in his disdain for Mr. Tebow. I'm sure that Mr. Maher feels he's in control but evil has no friends and always searches it's target. I feel sorrow for him and those close to him. And, I will admit that I can feel the evil welling up in me as I battle to protect my heart from responding to his comment in like fashion.
Hollyweird is full of
Hollyweird is full of indoctrinated liberals who throughout their lives are taught to hate America first by their parents, and then their profs at institutions of “higher learning”, and lastly the movie industry. It used to be 300,000 people in the industry but now Californians are leaving the state like rats on a sinking ship because of the total incompetence of the liberal leadership. Remember though, the Hollyweirders sure won’t be giving up (or paying taxes) on their off-shore trusts when this country is flowing down the toilet with one more year of “The Anointed One.” Maybe he could call the rock’n’rollers to help. Oh, sorry, I forgot, most of them are probably busy with those Aliester Crowley Satanic meetings and the sacrificial evening festivities. Then there are all the hundreds of sad stories. Doctors now say that the amount of bogus prescriptions among celebrities and their children are staggering. Unfortunately, unless something is done soon, it won’t be long until we add another name to the list that already includes Michael Jackson, Anna Nicole Smith, Brittany Murphy, Heath Ledger and now Corey Haim. And lastly, they love their "heroes" like Roman Polanski. Only the European atheist’s love him more. But give Roman time, there's always a chance for another Satan worshiping film winner? So where are the real heroes’s for Hollyweird? I have some simple advice. You want to meet a real hero so you can figure out what kind of movie to make? Go talk to the three Navy SEALs who faced assault charges for capturing one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq. Remember, when it comes to Hollyweird: There is no space as vacant as that of an actor without a script in their hand.

Liberals and Atheists Smarter? Intelligent People Have Values Novel in Human Evolutionary History, Study Finds.

I have hears that. Citation please?
@James
@James Smith..........ScienceDaily (Feb. 24, 2010) — More intelligent people are statistically significantly more likely to exhibit social values and religious and political preferences that are novel to the human species in evolutionary history. Specifically, liberalism and atheism, and for men (but not women).
Chuck
Thanks for the citation.
Thanks for the citation. Sorry about the typo, "hears" for "heard". Putting the "s" next to the "d". Whose bright idea was that? ;)
...............I want to
...............I want to encourage every non-believer to resolve to fight against the destructive forces of religion. We need to generate an opposition to theocracy that has dominated the world and has held so many prisoners to its repulsive dogma. Religion encompasses civilization and chains curiosity and science to the ground. It forever bounds the brilliant minds and corrupts morality.
Chuck
"corrupts morality" What is
"corrupts morality" What is your definition of morality?
The Catholic Heretic
Basically, if you need an
Basically, if you need an externally imposed system of rewards and punishments to do the right thing, you cannot be a moral person. You're an undisciplined child that must be held in check to keep you from being a self-centered savage.
I explain this in detail in my own blog at: https://slrman.wordpress.com/2010/08/02/ethics/
Religion only wants to control and exploit people through false promises and threats. It has nothing to do with ethical behavior at all. IN my own life, the times I have been cheated, taken advantage of, or otherwise badly treated, it has always been by "good christians".
Common moral issue: You're
Common moral issue: You're walking down the street and you find a large sum of money in a brown paper sack. If you take it for yourself no one will ever know. Do you a) Keep the money b) Turn it into the authorities c) Donate it to charity?
The Catholic Heretic
The important issue is, what
The important issue is, what would you do? Given my general life experience with christians, there is very little chance you would turn it in, as would be the right thing to do. You have already said that human decency does not exist. I have to think that applies to yourself as you have shown a tendency to project your own attitudes upon others. You'd probably give some to your church as a sop to your conscience, but the rest would be for yourself.
By the way...Catholic means
By the way...Catholic means universal, heretic means dissenter of religious dogma. Again subtlety is missed by you.
The Catholic Heretic
Again, truth and proof have
Again, truth and proof have eluded you. But that's no surprise to anyone that's been reading your posts.
Typical of you Mr. Smith. You
Typical of you Mr. Smith. You didn't answer the question only toss it back to me. Ok, I would turn it in. If no one claimed it I would donate it to charity. I can't have human decency since as I pointed out it does not exist. I have Christian decency which far better and I have someone to answer to if I don't follow through. I think the problem here with our communication is that you don't do well with subtlety. Arguments that require a lot of thought on your part you either deflect or ignore. Hows that working for ya? (Dr. Phil reference). You may think I hate you but on the contrary I love you. Seriously. You have so much pent up anger and hatred for Christians its surprising you haven't acted on it. I'm not the worlds best Christian (Paul and I are going to duke it out, oops subtlety again) my sarcasm gets in the way and I tend to retaliate far to often. You don't know me and you have no interest in getting to know me. I have a lot of questions for you but I don't believe you would answer them. Also since you are from a foreign country you shouldn't believe all the propaganda spewed from the US media, left, right or middle.
The Catholic Heretic
I deflect or ignore
I deflect or ignore arguments? What a liar you are. I have asked you several times to prove anything you say is true or anything I say is not true. You have ignored all of them.
You hate me because I tell the truth and point out when you do not.
I have answered any question you are anyone else has asked. even worse for you, I tell the truth and am able to prove what I say.
Yes, I do think poorly of all religions as I think poorly of liars and hypocrites. That's why I think so badly of you. You make thinly veiled threats and then try to back out of them by saying it was sarcasm or a joke.
You state that human decency does not exist even though it has been demonstrated many times. You should be happy that it does. It's the one thing that allows people like you to freely express untruths, threaten people and cause so much damage in the world. It's the tolerance and fair play of atheists that make theists look so bad. No wonder theists have tortured and killed us for thousands of years.
I know you far better than you know yourself. It's pretty easy for me to recognize a hypocrite and a liar. When you evade direct questions, decline to provide proof of anything, yet talk about "fact, please", it doesn't take a very perceptive person to see what you are.
I live in Brazil, but FYI, Mr. Willfully Ignorant, I am an American and have lived in seven US states, The Netherlands, and Quebec. I suspect I am far better educated and traveled that you will ever be. I've experienced and lived in more cultures and with more religions than you will ever know.
I am all too familiar with the failings of the Media in the USA and elsewhere, too.
BTW, Dr. Phil is a phoney as you are. No wonder you quote him.
Is the sack unidentifiable,
Is the sack unidentifiable, meaning the owner could not be determined? In Michigan, the law is that you must turn it into the authorities and if no one claims it in 30 days, it returns to the finder. I would follow the law, I would donate some of it, and help my college age children with the rest.
Thanks for the honest reply.
Thanks for the honest reply. I wish Mr. Smith would try it sometime.
The Catholic Heretic
I have asked you to prove
I have asked you to prove that anything I have said is not true. As always, when you're faced with anything you cannot answer, you ignore it. I say again, prove anything I have posted is not true, or that anything you have posted is true.
Every time you evade those questions, you're admitting I am right, as you have done several times so far.
@James Smith...Well put, I
@James Smith...Well put, I agree .
Chuck
To me, it's like Bill Maher
To me, it's like Bill Maher ridiculed a poor, religious family living in a trailer whose preschool daughter was killed by a tornado, gleefully taunting, "Boy, Jesus really f*cked _her_, didn't he!"
I, for one, would respect Tebow and the Broncos fans during their time of loss.
For their loss? It isn't
For their loss? It isn't like the poor family devastated by a tornado. It's pointless game played by spoiled, overpaid prima donnas.
They win some, they lose some, they get paid either way.
Holy hyperbole! It seems
Holy hyperbole!
It seems strange that god gets all the credit for good things from believers, but none of the blame for the bad things.
but, "God is good, god is
but, "God is good, god is great" don;t you remember that piece of brainwashing?
You're right, of course. It's impossible for "true believers" to accept that the 27,000 children dying from starvation and malnutrition can be the fault of their god because he does nothing to save them. But then, maybe he's too busy directing Tim Tebow's passes to be bothered by a little thing like dying children.
Billy has the contagious
Billy has the contagious virus going around MSNBC called the " O'Donnell Syndrome." Maher's so called "comedy" routine never included a smidgeon of intelligence but now it's even worse, he now sounds like a cross between Mel Gibson and Keith Olbermann. As the syndrome progresses it will cause Billy to fall into the "Chris Matthews phase." This will lead Billy to start spitting when he pronounces certain words, it’s similar to Sylvester the Cat's lisp. Sylvester's lisp of course was much worse but at least the people he talked to stayed dry. The next phase is the Dylan Rattigan phase and he will find himself starting to spend time in Hugh Hefner's grotto and believing the women when they tell him "you were great" or he will start believing the info coming out of MSNBC. The last stage of the syndrome is called the Lawrence O'Donnell psycho phase. This phase will start with an eye "tremor" or eye itch, similar to the one that Inspector Dryfus had (Inspector Clouseau's enemy) in the Pink Panther movies. The angrier you get, the more it twitches. The more it twitches the angrier you get. And of course with this last phase, he will start believing the notes the Progressives have him reading.
Wow! This sounds like evil
Wow! This sounds like evil wishful thinking at its worst. Maher keeps getting new shows, new projects, etc. Real Time on HBO has been upped from just 12 weekly episodes to full seasons. I am not really a fan, but I think your classification is just a little off.. Since he is on HBO and not MSNBC, I think you missed the format.
Maher's tweet was pretty much on target with how his show runs. He won't lose any fans that already watch his show. If anything, the "bad" press is likely to draw more interest to his show.
Speaking of no "smidgen of
Speaking of no "smidgen of intelligence" that precisely describes your post. All it does is spew hate without reason and invective without proof.
It also displays a lack of understanding of the purpose of paragraphs and seems to be nothing more than a stream of irrational venom and ill-will.
Hello? Maher is a comedian
Hello? Maher is a comedian and a social critic. This is his shtick. If you don't like it, don't watch and don't listen. Nothing will kill bad humor like bad ratings.
Boycotts can be very effective. However, I doubt that many of Maher's fans have been offended by anything Maher says about Tebow.
Anyone see his documentary, "Religulous?" Maher's opinions of all things religious are very well known.
Someone should remind Bill
Someone should remind Bill Maher that we mortals cannot always understand God's ways, and must have faith that the Broncos' loss serves some higher purpose.
Bill Maher is smart enough to
Bill Maher is smart enough to know there is no god. Assuming there is one and that he's take any interest in a football game is not just arrogant, it's abysmally ignorant.
That would contradict Maher's
That would contradict Maher's assertion that Jesus f*cked Tebow in delivering victory to the Buffalo Bills.
Joking about you making out
Joking about you making out with your imaginary girlfriend doesn't mean I actually think your imaginary girlfriend is anything more than imaginary.
So the Broncos losing is
So the Broncos losing is divine intervention? Isn't that kinda like God fixing the game? So much for free will and individual (or team) talent.
Maher said so.
Maher said so.
Sarcasm...you know this whole
Sarcasm...you know this whole thing by Maher was sarcasm and mockery or am I missing your sarcasm? Maher is an atheist who mocks the religious whenever he views them as being absurd.
Religion is absurd and
Religion is absurd and deserves to be mocked. You're right about his comments being sarcasm, too. Who was it that said, "Sarcasm is the brain's natural response to stupidity"? Or words to that effect, I can't be certain of the exact quote. :)
So tell me what you have to
So tell me what you have to say about Allah and Mohamed.
Maher mocked every major
Maher mocked every major religion on the planet in his documentary, "Religulous.". I think you will find that Christianity and Islam get equal treatment as well as Judaism in Maher's movie. This specific topic has to do Tebow who happens to be Christian and who apparently has not read Matthew 6:5.
I said, "All religions are
I said, "All religions are fake." That includes Allah and Mohamed.
Mohamed was a liar, a child molester, (by today's standards) a murderer, and a thief.
Allah has no more existence than Krishna, Thor, Horus, or Zeus. Does that answer your question?
Mr Smith, I sent your name
Mr Smith, I sent your name and comment to http://www.aljazeera.com. To see what their response was. Thanks.
The Catholic Heretic
@TheCatholicHeretic....Aljaze
@TheCatholicHeretic....Aljazeera is a well respected news organization, I watch it all the time to get the straight facts on world events.
Chuck
There are _no_ well respected
There are _no_ well respected news organizations. They all spin the story the way they want. There is no way to get to the absolute truth because no person can be 100% unbiased. I listen to all sides, not one, because I just might find something close to the truth by combining what the left, right and middle have to say.
The Catholic Heretic
@TheCatholicHeretic
@TheCatholicHeretic ...........Humans filter everything through their prism of experience, this need not be said, we all understand this. Or are you just now finding this out?...................................Your wrong, there are well respected news organizations, you just are to biased to recognize them.............................................................I know to look at all sides of an argument, all intelligent people do, this again need not be said, at least not to a person who is intellectually honest.....................................................From following your posts I can see you are dogmatic and have already made up you mind about most subjects in this realm, your unable to accept new information, therefor you will remain ignorant.
Chuck
@Chuck You have again nailed
@Chuck You have again nailed the subject exactly. Dogmatic, closed-minded, and willfully ignorant.
Personally, I am finished with this deliberate moron. As has been said, "You cannot reason a person away from a position they did not reach through reason." Then when they have long ago rejected truth and rational thinking, in order to cling to a belief system that has no basis in reality, it's a waste of time and effort. Yes, it can be amusing for a time to see how deeply you can guide them into increasingly contradictory and ridiculous statements. But it's just too easy. After a dozen or so silly statements from them, it just becomes boring.
Not to worry, CatholicHeritic
Not to worry, CatholicHeritic was only trying to intimidate me with an implied threat of violent retribution from what he thinks is an Islamic terrorist group.
The threat of implied violence (You'll burn in hell) is a common theist technique. It's sad that he could think that tired old nonsense could work on me. Even worse is he couldn't even be bothered to learn about the organization where he was "reporting" me.
Facts and logical thinking never had any place in theist world views. That could be because those two, along with free speech, are fatal to any religion. That's why they have traditionally been suppressed by all religions.
You have no sense of humor.
You have no sense of humor. :D

So, you intend to side with
So, you intend to side with the terrorists and allow them to attempt what you lack the personal courage and integrity to attempt yourself?
That's a very thinly-veiled, cowardly threat. I expected no better from you, though.
If I had done something similar to you, you'd be whining and screaming "persecution!" After all, I'm just a dirty atheist heathen, undeserving of life and happiness.
