Beyonce Wants this Picture Taken Off the Internet

If you guys have never heard of The Streisand Effect, allow me to bring you up to speed: Back in 2003, Barbara Streisand‘s home was photographed and published on the web. Streisand tried to have the photos taken down, which only lead to everyone checking out the pictures, which they wouldn’t have in the first place if it weren’t for the fact that someone drew attention to them. Ten years later, Beyoncé is trying to get BuzzFeed to remove some unflattering pictures from her Superbowl performance, so of course now everyone is looking at them. Well played, Beyoncé.

Thanks for taking my call. As discussed, there are some unflattering photos on your current feed that we are respectfully asking you to change. I am certain you will be able to find some better photos.

The worst are #5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 19 and 22.

Thank you very much.

Yvette

Dammit Yvette, you had one job! ONE JOB! Anyway, real talk here: Unflattering pics get posted to Facebook all the time. I’m sure right now there’s probably a few of you floating around out there. And I know you think they look horrible, but in all likelihood, no one thinks they’re that bad, and no one would really pay that much attention to them unless you brought attention to them. And really, have you seen how much moving Beyonce does during her show? Of course it looks weird if you freeze-frame it. It’s really not that big a deal.
