Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Have a Sham Marriage?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have enjoyed a relatively scandal free seven-year marriage in Hollywood. They have been able to avoid cheating rumors, public drama and divorce rumors. Most of the time the couple is photographed together or with one of their children. However, every now and then the rumors creep in, even for the least scandalous couples.

A report from the website Celeb Dirty Laundry suggest that the Afflecks have a sham marriage and it was all for Affleck’s Oscar campaign for the movie Argo. They use Affleck’s speech and the suggestion that Garner, who they said has only starred in B-grade movies, doesn’t want to be the ex-wife of an A-list Hollywood actor.

“I want to thank my wife,” Affleck said in his Oscar acceptance speech. “I want to thank you for working on our marriage for ten Christmases, it’s- uh, it’s- it’s good, it is work, but it’s the best kind of work, and, uh, there’s no one I’d rather work with.”

The sham marriage for an Oscar report may work, except for the fact that for 10 years, way before any Oscar buzz for Argo, Ben and Jen have acted the same exact way. They have always gushed about each other, always been with their kids and have just tried to lead a relatively normal life. Affleck’s Oscar speech may not have been as mushy as everyone would have preferred, but it was honest. It does take work to achieve what the Afflecks have – realness.

"I've been able to really just enjoy my good fortune in the last couple of weeks and sit back and kind of just take it in and not do anything, just eat ice cream on the couch," Affleck said recently of his post Oscar days. "It's been a really nice time to hang out with my wife and that sort of thing, so we're just enjoying it."
