Ashton Kutcher Defends Penn State’s Joe Paterno

Two and a Half Men actor Ashton Kutcher was bashed by his Twitter followers after tweeting in support of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who was fired due to a huge child-abuse sex scandal.

Paterno was forced to end his 46-year career after former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was charged over the weekend on 40 counts of child sex abuse.   Paterno failed to act and contact the authorities when he has known about Sandusky’s actions for at least ten years.

I guess Kutcher wasn’t too happy about this because he took to his Twitter account to say:

“How dare you fire Jo Pa?”

“Insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste.”

His followers were quick to fire back, calling him “ignorant” and an “idiot.” One fan said:

“F— you. He covered up child rape you sick, geriatric f—.”

While another fan went onto say:

“With 8 million followers, you MAY want to reserve your opinions until you know the whole story.”

Kutcher eventually took down his initial tweet and explained himself, saying:

“Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes…”

“This is an insane story, I just heard paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now… Wow”

“As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case”
