Winehouse lived an interesting and devastating life full of drugs and alcohol, and now her fans can learn about it through the project which is currently being developed at Focus Features.
They expect to present it to movie buyers at Cannes next month. It is co-produced by Playmaker Films and Universal Music.
It is described as being "incredibly modern, emotional and relevant, [having] the power to capture the zeitgeist and shine a light to the world we live in."
