Adam Levine to Fox News: Don't Play Our Music on Your Evil F*cking Channel

| by Michael Allen

Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine went on Twitter this afternoon to demand that Fox News stop playing his band's music. He wrote: "Dear Fox News, don't play our music on your evil fucking channel ever again. Thank you."  It is unclear what exactly prompted the profane tweet.

While musicians often tell politicians to stop using their music - Tom Petty, Katrina and the Waves and David Byrne have all dealt with this - it's unusual to see an artist make this demand of a network.

While musicians seldom get paid performance royalties when their music is used on campaign stops, television networks are obligated to pay out royalties every time a song is used in a broadcast, so Levine is definitely giving up money with his tweet.
